INFORMATION

Before We Begin은 에릭남이 데뷔 이후 처음 공개하는 영어 앨범이다. ‘우리의 시작이 있기 전에’라는 의미의 Before We Begin 앨범 안에는 다양한 색채로 그린 사랑의 순간들이 담겨 있다.

타이틀곡 ‘Congratulations’는 ‘이별축하송’으로, 낡고 지난한 연애를 끝내면서 느끼는 해방감을 경쾌하게 풀어낸 곡이다. “축하해! 드디어 네가 떠나네. 오늘 밤 파티를 열어 너와 나의 끝에 건배하자”라는 가사에서는 이별이 마냥 무거울 필요는 없다는 쿨함과 여유마저 느껴진다.

이와는 대조적으로 10월 30일 선공개한 ‘Love Die Young’은 사랑이 너무 빨리 떠나가는 것을 붙잡고 싶다는 애틋한 마음을 담은 가사를 감미로운 목소리로 선보여 화제를 모았다.

그 외에도 처음의 설렘을 담은 ‘Come Through’, 사랑을 그렇게 어렵게 생각하지 말라고 속삭이는 ‘You’re Sexy, I’m Sexy’, 연애했던 당시 미성숙했던 서로의 모습을 후회하는 ‘Wonder’ 등이 수록되어 있다.
