2019년 데뷔곡 <NOM>으로 신선한 음악과 통통 튀는 무대를 선보였던 동키즈가 다시 한번 더 동키즈만의 컬러로 올 여름을 강타할 앨범 'BlockBuster'로 대중 앞에 선다. 이번 두번째 싱글앨범 'BlockBuster'는 전작의 연계선상에 있지만 한층 성장하고 더욱 짙어진 그들만의 매력으로 대중에게 동키즈란 이름을 더욱 더 각인 시키겠다는 각오를 담고 있다.

이번 타이틀곡 'BlockBuster'는 영화 '고스트버스터즈(Ghostbusters)'에 삽입된 메인 테마곡을 샘플링하였으며, 디스코리듬에 중독성있는 기타 리프를 기반으로 원곡의 테마와 느낌을 강렬한 힙합 트랩드럼으로 트렌디하게 재해석하였다. 또한 곡의 제목인 '블록버스터(BlockBuster)'는 크게 성공한 책이나 영화를 뜻하는 의미로 더욱 더 성장해 나갈 동키즈에게 주문과도 같은 곡이기도 하다.
