사람은 누구나 인생을 살아가는 자신만의 삶의 이유가 있을 것이다. 이번 앨범 [Be My Reason]은 자신에게 있어서 삶을 살아가는 ‘이유’가 무엇인지 되돌아 보자는 메시지를 담고 있다.

홀로서기를 선언한 이후 처음으로 제작하는 앨범인 만큼 음악적인 완성도를 높이기 위해 밤낮없이 녹음 및 앨범 제작에 매진하였고, 이번에도 본인이 직접 작사 작곡에 참여하는 등 싱어송라이터로서의 면모 또한 유감없이 보여주었다.

이번 앨범 [Be My Reason]은 황치열을 대표하는 장르인 발라드로 가득 채웠으며, 특히 타이틀곡 ‘안녕이란’은 첫 만남의 ‘안녕’부터 헤어짐의 ‘안녕’에 이르기까지의 과정을 생생하게 담아 많은 이들이 순식간에 빠져들어 공감할 수 있는 곡이다.
