싱글앨범 형태로는 2년 만에 발매되는 【Mayday】는 도와달라, 구조해달라는 뜻을 나타내는 단어로, 이 위험한 사랑의 굴레에서 구해달라는 의미를 지니고 있다. 빅톤이 새롭게 선보이는 장르의 타이틀곡을 포함하여, 대중들과 팬들의 큰 사랑을 받았던 미니5집의 수록곡 ‘New World’를 한승우의 목소리까지 더해내 ‘New World (new ver.)’으로 탄생시켰으며, CD ONLY로 수록이 되었다.

싱글 2집 【Mayday】의 타이틀곡 ‘Mayday’는 두아리파(Dua Lipa), 제드(Zedd), 앤마리(Ann-Marie)등세계적으로 유명한 아티스트들의 프로듀서인 Peter Rycroft, Jesper Borgen 등의 작가 진들이 빅톤을 위해 협업하여 만든 곡으로, 빅톤이 처음 시도해 보는 퓨처사운드 기반의 얼터너티브 R&B 장르 곡이다. 끝이 보이는 위험한 사랑을 진행 중 인 건 알고 있지만, 지금이 너무 행복하다는 내용을 가사에 담아내었으며, ‘Mayday’라는 단어로 구조신호를 보내면서도, 그 구조를 기다리고 싶지 않은 마음을 여러 가사로 표현해냈다.
