Ably Reports Record-Breaking Album Sales in February, Emerging as a Rising K-POP Sales Channel

Ably announced on the 6th that its album category recorded the highest transaction volume in February, positioning itself as a rising K-POP album purchase platform.

In August of last year, Ably launched its album category, offering various formats such as CDs, LPs, and Kit Albums. By partnering with Korea’s top K-POP distribution company Ktown4u, the lineup expanded to include official goods like lightsticks and photobooks.

Albums purchased through Ably are reflected in the Ktown4u, Hanteo, and Circle chart sales counts. The platform’s free delivery service, without the need for offline visits, has attracted significant attention from fandoms.

In February, the transaction volume for Ably’s album products increased 2.7 times (170%) compared to the launch six months ago, marking a record high. Orders also rose by 2.6 times (160%) during the same period. Over 80% of February’s sales came from users in their teens and twenties, confirming Ably’s popularity among Gen Z consumers.

The top-selling items were CDs and LPs, followed by photocard albums and official goods. CD/LP sales increased by 175% compared to August, while photocard albums saw a growth of nearly 82%.

Popular artists in Ably’s February TOP 5 sales list included BOYNEXTDOOR’s debut single WHO! (Crunch ver.), G-DRAGON’s 3rd full album Übermensch (Photocard Album ver.), and PLAVE’s 3rd mini-album Caligo Pt.1 (POCAALBUM ver.).

Ably attributes its success to quickly responding to cultural demand for music and goods and offering a differentiated shopping experience. With growing interest in fandom culture and music as a form of personal expression, Ably provides access to a wide range of products — from fashion and beauty to snacks and K-POP goods — all within one app.

A representative stated, “Since its launch, the Ably album category has rapidly gained traction as a rising K-POP commerce platform favored by Gen Z. We will continue to expand artist albums, goods, and exclusive offers tailored to user preferences.”
