The "Trade Day Commemoration Ceremony" has garnered attention for its recognition of the top exporters. Typically, startups focus on the domestic market, especially in the software industry, making instances of export relatively rare.
The company with the largest export volume was 'Beaglenode,' which services various mobile games. They received the 'Top Exporter of $50 million' award and have consistently increased their exports, reaching $20 million in 2020 and $30 million in 2021. Beaglenode achieved sales of 81 billion KRW last year, successfully turning a profit in the first half of this year. Additionally, Beaglenode was recognized as a 'Service Top.' The second-largest exporter among startups was 'Ktown4u,' a K-pop commerce platform. Ktown4u exports K-pop-related albums and goods to over 240 countries worldwide, steadily expanding its export volume. In April of this year, Ktown4u attracted an investment of 50 billion KRW, with major investors including LB Investment and KB Securities.
Delight Room, the operator of the alarm application 'Alarmy,' also received the 'Top Exporter of $10 million' award. Developed by Delight Room in 2012, 'Alarmy' is a globally renowned alarm app that has secured the top position in 97 countries worldwide. It offers wake-up missions such as puzzles and math problems. This marks the third time this year that Delight Room has been recognized as a top exporter.
Started as an in-house venture of content media company NEW, 'Newid' also joined the ranks of top export award winners. NEWid provides services to companies, including advertising-based free streaming TV (FAST) and AI-based video post-production. Many of the startups recognized as top exporters operate in digital services like games or apps, as well as in the content fields of K-pop, K-dramas, and more.
