공간과 피아노를 레이어링하는 독보적인 음감을 가진 아티스트 김재훈이 맹렬한 미니멀리즘으로 돌아온다. 숲 곁에 피아노를 놓고 자연에 차분하게 '반주'했던 첫 앨범 <ACCOMPANIMENT>에 이어 광활한 땅과 높은 산, 넓은 바다를 가로지르며 받은 영감을 막힘없이 풀어낸 이번 앨범 <S.W.I.M>에서 김재훈은 직접 연주하는 피아노에 현악 4중주를 초대해 그가 관찰한 시공간에 움켜져 있는 소리와 다양한 감정의 이야기를 담아냈다.
앨범을 통해 청자는 피아노 퀸텟이 연주하는 광산을 지나 깊은 산과 일렁이는 바다의 이미지를 경험하게 된다. 산과 바다에 머무르며 작곡을 이어온 김재훈은 전작에서 자연 채집한 소리에 인위적인 편집을 하지 않은 것처럼 이번 레코딩 또한 원테이크 합주 방식으로 진행해 동시대 연주음악의 존재 가치를 증명하고 있다.
