-If the diameter of the disk center hole is too small or does not fit the spindle, it can be solved by changing the hole of the disk.

국내 대표 LP 제작 브랜드 마장뮤직앤픽처스㈜와 태림스코어, 멜론, 한겨레 공동기획 <한국대중음악명반 100 : LP 명반시리즈> 그 여섯 번째 LP ! 패닉(Panic) 2집 「밑」이 마장뮤직앤픽처스를 통해 LP로 최초 발매된다.

‘달팽이’와 ‘기다리다’ 등 대중의 사랑을 받았던 화려한 데뷔 음반의 다음 행보가 신랄하고 파격적인 2집 「밑」 일 것이라고 아무도 예상할 수 없었을 것이다. 하지만 아이러니하게도 이 쇼킹한 음반은 불편한 심기를 담은 날카로운 가사로 또다시 매니아 층의 호응을 끌어모았다.

현악 4중주로 시작하는 ‘어릿광대의 세 아들들에 대하여’는 섬뜩하고 음침한 분위기, 동화적 감성으로 팬들의 많은 사랑을 받는 곡이다. 더불어 당시 기준으로는 받아들이기 어려울 만큼 직설적인 표현으로 많은 논란을 일으킨 ‘벌레’, ‘mama’ 등은 김진표가 작사, 작곡하였으며, 두 곡은 음반 내 가장 과격하고 문제적인 가사를 자랑한다. 통렬한 비평과 은유 때문에 문화면이 아닌 사회면에 기사가 실리는 소소한 파장을 일으키기도 했다.

두 청년의 음악적 광기가 만들어낸 독창적이면서도 완성도 높은 음악도 이 음반의 스토리텔링 못지않게 주목을 받았다. 이 실험적 프로덕션을 지지하는 김세황, 김효국, 이태윤, 차은주, 김동률, ‘유앤미블루’, ‘삐삐밴드’과 같은 실력 있는 아티스트의 조력도 빛이 난다. ‘UFO’, ‘불면증’, ‘혀’ 등 수록 곡 대부분이 파격적인 음악 실험작으로 평론가의 호평을 얻었다. 패닉(Panic)의 색을 가장 잘 보여주는 음반으로 회자되는 2집 「밑」은 지금의 골든 디스크인 1996년 ‘대한민국 영상음악 대상’을 수상했다.
