10 Years of Marriage: Chae Yeon Reveals Surprising Moments with Joo Sang Wook
Expressing disappointment, saying “I followed you but you didn’t hold the door,” Joo Sang Wook explained, “I didn’t know.”

Actress Cha Ye-ryeon recently opened up about a moment of disappointment she experienced with her husband, actor Joo Sang-wook.
On May 11th, Channel ‘Cha Ye-ryeon’ uploaded a video titled “Must-Watch Before Marriage: ’10-Year Couple’s Advice: Enjoy Single Life Longer’ – Marriage Counseling Session.”
During the episode, Cha Ye-ryeon and Joo Sang-wook addressed viewers’ relationship concerns. Cha took this opportunity to share a personal anecdote about feeling let down by her husband.
Responding to a viewer’s worry about her boyfriend’s changed behavior, Cha admitted, “I’ve also had moments of disappointment with my husband.”
She elaborated, “There were times when I was following him, and he wouldn’t hold the door for me, just going in by himself. It really bothered me. This happened a few times.”
Joo defended himself, saying, “Viewers might misunderstand. When I opened the door and went in, I just assumed Ye-ryeon was right behind me.” Cha humorously fired back, “What kind of excuse is that? Am I invisible?” drawing laughter from the audience.
Joo, maintaining that men need clear communication, advised, “Next time, explicitly say, ‘Don’t go ahead, stay beside me.'” He further explained, “It’s not about a lack of love; it’s just thoughtlessness.”
As they wrapped up the counseling session, the couple offered some heartfelt advice about married life.
Cha emphasized, “You need to learn to let go of certain things and live considerately.” Joo added, “Marriage requires sacrifice. It’s about sharing half of your life.” Cha also encouraged viewers to “break free from societal pressures about marriage and children, and focus on living happily,” offering warm support as a more experienced partner.
Joo Sang-wook and Cha Ye-ryeon first met on the set of the 2015 MBC drama ‘Glamorous Temptation.’ After a year of dating, they tied the knot in 2017 and are now proud parents to a daughter.
