Lotte Entertainment unveiled the dubbing trailer for ‘David’ on the 25th. The animated feature, directed by Phil Cunningham and Brent Dawes, is slated for a nationwide theatrical release on July 10. This preview showcases the involvement of top-tier Korean talent in the dubbing process.
‘David’ follows the journey of an ordinary shepherd boy whose destiny unfolds through his mother’s song, leading him to face the feared giant Goliath and ultimately ascend to kingship. The narrative captures David’s growth as he confronts significant challenges, guided by prophetic words heard since childhood.
The trailer highlights Park Bo-gum’s debut in full-length animation dubbing, where he skillfully portrays David’s inner turmoil and development. Veteran actor Jang Kwang lends his voice to the prophet Samuel, delivering the ominous line, “He will strike again.” Cha Ji-yeon brings warmth to the role of David’s mother, Nitzevet, embodying maternal faith. Park Bo-gum’s delivery of “I trust my shepherd will watch over me” powerfully conveys David’s steadfast belief.
