Actor Byun Woo-seok's ongoing charitable efforts have reportedly led to successful treatment for a child in need, stirring emotions among his fans.

On August 5, a comment on Byun's personal social media account from Lee Ae-young, his former co-star on Netflix's "Yoo Jae-suk Camp," caught attention.

Lee expressed gratitude, saying, "Thanks to your donation, a child from my former workplace received life-changing treatment. It's heartwarming to see your kindness reach those who need it most. You've given this child immense hope, and for that, I'm truly thankful."

Byun responded with joy, calling it "wonderful news." His philanthropic efforts include a substantial donation of 300 million KRW (about 225,000 USD) to Severance Hospital in 2024, channeling all profits from his merchandise sales to a pediatric cancer foundation last year, and an additional 100 million KRW (about 75,000 USD) donation this January.

Comedian Kim Kyu-won has garnered praise for his compassionate actions during and after his social service. He diligently cared for an elementary school student with muscular dystrophy and kept his promise to attend the child's graduation, even after completing his service.

On August 7, a source revealed that Kim met the boy, who uses a wheelchair due to congenital muscular dystrophy, when the child was in fifth grade. Kim's dedication was evident in his actions, including personally washing and drying the boy's clothes after an accident.

After finishing his service, Kim left gifts and flowers at the boy's home on his elementary school graduation day, as COVID-19 restrictions prevented in-person meetings.

Later, after seeing Kim's rising career on TV and in dramas, the source reached out. Kim then personally attended the boy's middle school graduation to celebrate this milestone. Online communities have showered Kim with praise for his exemplary character and heartfelt actions.

Actor Jung Hae-in has also made headlines for his generosity and camaraderie.

During his August 7 appearance on KBS2's "Problematic Men in the Rooftop Room," Jung revealed that he treated the entire drama production team, including cast and crew, to a lavish Yeongdeok snow crab feast, covering all expenses himself.

Host Song Eun-yi estimated the cost at 20 to 30 million KRW (about 15,000 to 22,500 USD), expressing amazement. She also mentioned Jung's past gesture of gifting down jackets to his former agency's staff.

Co-star Ha-young added that Jung had given matching T-shirts to the cast. Jung also shared that the most extravagant gift he's given his parents was a car, showcasing his deep filial piety.

These genuine acts of kindness and generosity from celebrities are more than just feel-good stories; they're inspiring examples of positive influence in the public sphere.
