Baemyeong-ho Refutes Ex-Wife's Allegations and Announces Legal Action

(MHN Reporter Kim So-young) Mixed martial arts fighter Baemyeong-ho has directly addressed allegations made by his ex-spouse, Ms. A, regarding unpaid child support and neglected personal debts. He asserts that he has consistently provided financial support exceeding child support obligations.
On August 18, Baemyeong-ho posted a rebuttal on his social media in response to Ms. A's statement. He acknowledged, "I knew this would initiate a painful narrative for all involved," adding, "While I can't disclose every detail of our marriage, we reached a mutual agreement."
He continued, "I've done my utmost for our child and have taken responsibility for the family I couldn't maintain by providing financial support beyond required child support." Baemyeong-ho explained that both parties currently disagree on the legal interpretation of their divorce agreement and are awaiting a court decision.
He emphasized, "The circumstances and reasons for any unpaid child support shouldn't be judged solely from one perspective." Baemyeong-ho expressed his commitment to respect and follow the court's objective ruling. He also firmly stated his intention to actively counter excessive criticism based on unilateral claims or misinformation through his legal representative, citing defamation and insult laws.
Previously, Ms. A alleged on her social media that Baemyeong-ho left the family when their child was 17 months old. She claimed he neglected child support payments, failed to fulfill agreed-upon obligations, and left personal debts unattended. Ms. A argued that he avoided contact while enjoying overseas travel, thereby evading parental responsibilities, which sparked public controversy.
Known by the nickname "Wolverine," Baemyeong-ho is a prominent MMA fighter who won the Legend Fighting Championship welterweight title in 2011. He gained public recognition after appearing on the KBS2 variety show "Happy Sunday - 1 Night 2 Days Season 3" in 2018, where he demonstrated sparring techniques and showcased his candid personality. In 2019, he married a non-celebrity woman and has a child with her.

Full statement from Baemyeong-ho:
"While I stated that this post isn't intended to criticize anyone or sway public opinion, I was well aware it would initiate a painful narrative for all involved.
Although I can't detail every aspect of our marriage, we reached an amicable conclusion. I've done my utmost for our child and have continued to provide financial support exceeding child support obligations, fulfilling mutual agreements made during our divorce process.
Currently, both parties disagree on the legal interpretation of our divorce terms, and we await a court decision. I believe that the circumstances surrounding any unpaid child support and the reasons for it shouldn't be judged solely from one perspective. I will respect and abide by the court's objective ruling on this matter.
I can no longer tolerate the excessive criticism and harm caused to me and my family by unilateral claims or misrepresented facts. I will actively respond to defamation and insults through my legal representative.
I urge everyone to refrain from speculating about unverified information or making excessive accusations. Please await the court's final decision on this matter. I will strive not to disappoint those who support me.
