Kim Soo-hyun Set to Make Public Comeback at TMA, Slated for AAA 2026 in Taiwan

BUSAN - After a year and a half hiatus, Korean heartthrob Kim Soo-hyun is poised to make his long-awaited return to the public eye.

The actor will grace the stage as a presenter at the '2026 The Fact Music Awards (TMA)' on September 19 at the Busan Asiad Main Stadium. This marks Kim's first official public appearance in Korea since his press conference in March of last year.

Kim's temporary retreat from the spotlight was prompted by personal controversies. However, in July, the Seoul Seongdong Police Station cleared him of allegations related to child welfare violations and false accusations. The prosecution subsequently returned the case files to the police on the 3rd, requiring no further investigation.

Authorities found insufficient evidence to support claims of an inappropriate relationship with the late Kim Sae-ron or allegations of grooming, effectively concluding the 16-month criminal investigation.

In response, Kim's legal team has filed defamation suits against those who spread false information, including the deceased's family and Kim Se-yi, head of the Garoseoro Research Institute.

Recently, Kim has been easing back into the limelight through international brand endorsements and overseas TV appearances. His role as a presenter at the TMA signals his official comeback to the Korean entertainment scene, with plans to balance both domestic and international commitments.

Fans can look forward to seeing more of Kim as he's confirmed to attend the 'Asia Artist Awards (AAA 2026)' in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, on December 5 and 6.

Kim Soo-hyun first captured hearts in 2007 with his debut in the sitcom 'Kimchi Cheese Smile.' He has since skyrocketed to Hallyu stardom, leaving an indelible mark with his performances in hit dramas like 'Dream High,' 'Moon Embracing the Sun,' 'My Love from the Star,' and 'Queen of Tears.'
