Health Crisis: Why Yoo Jae-suk’s Cancellation Sparks Controversy Among Celebrities
Former K-pop Star Criticizes Yoo Jae-suk's Recording Cancellation

In a recent social media post, former Roo'ra member Ko Young-wook took aim at beloved South Korean entertainer Yoo Jae-suk following news of the latter's canceled recording due to illness.
On September 27, Ko shared an article about Yoo's last-minute cancellation of an SBS show taping, sarcastically commenting, "This is a perfect chance for him to get some rest."
Yoo, known for his impeccable work ethic, made headlines when he canceled a recording of SBS's "Timeman Namyeon" on September 22 - a first in his illustrious career. Sources close to the production revealed that Yoo was battling a severe cold and high fever. Despite his attempts to push through, Yoo ultimately had to postpone the shoot after consulting with the production team.
This isn't Ko's first time targeting Yoo. In July, he shared a screenshot from MBC's "What Do You Do?" featuring Yoo saying, "May we all become happy and rich." Ko cynically responded, "Is broadcasting really that great? How much wealthier does he need to be? His greed seems boundless."
Ko's comments have raised eyebrows in the entertainment industry, given his controversial past. In 2013, he was convicted of sexual assault and forcible molestation of a minor, serving two and a half years in prison before his release in 2015.
Since the end of his public disclosure period in 2020, Ko has made several attempts to return to the public eye, including opening social media accounts and channels. However, his efforts have been met with resistance due to his criminal history.
On September 27, Ko launched a TikTok account, sharing a video of himself walking down the street - another apparent bid to re-enter the entertainment scene. His recent string of provocative comments aimed at fellow celebrities continues to stir controversy in South Korean media circles.
