Verity Breaks $100 Million Worldwide, Features Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson

The psychological thriller Verity is set to hit South Korean theaters. Slated for release on the 22nd, this high-octane suspense film has already dominated the North American box office.

Verity stormed to the top of the North American box office in its opening week. Impressively, it crossed the $100 million mark in global ticket sales within just two weeks, swiftly recouping its production budget.

The film continues to garner praise from moviegoers. Initially scoring 69% on Rotten Tomatoes' audience meter, Verity has since climbed to 71%, indicating growing audience approval. Critics have likened it to an addictive rollercoaster ride and an unstoppable thrill fest. They've highlighted the film's electrifying theater experience, praising its delirious drama, cascading plot twists, and the sheer excitement of witnessing it on the big screen.

The plot revolves around Verity (Anne Hathaway), a bestselling author rendered unable to walk or speak following an accident. When Lowen (Dakota Johnson), a ghostwriter, enters Verity's mansion to complete her unfinished novel, she stumbles upon a hidden autobiographical manuscript. This discovery plunges Lowen into a vortex of secrets surrounding the Verity couple.

The star-studded cast is another major draw. The sensual yet eerie chemistry between Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson, and Josh Hartnett ratchets up the tension. A standout feature is how the autobiography Lowen reads blurs the lines between past and present, leaving viewers questioning what's real and what's fiction.

After taking North America by storm, Verity is set to premiere in South Korean theaters on Thursday, the 22nd.
