Actress Song Hye-kyo is teaming up with Gong Yoo for a highly anticipated new project.
Netflix announced on the 22nd that their upcoming series "Slowly, Intensely," starring Song Hye-kyo and Gong Yoo, will debut on December 11. The drama is set against the backdrop of the turbulent Korean entertainment industry from the 1960s to the 1980s. It follows the journey of ambitious individuals who, despite humble beginnings, throw themselves wholeheartedly into pursuing their dreams of stardom.

Acclaimed writer Noh Hee-kyung returns after a four-and-a-half-year hiatus with this new series. Director Lee Yoon-jung will helm the project, promising to deliver a nuanced exploration of character growth and relationships. Noh's impressive portfolio includes hit dramas like "Lie," "The World They Live In," "That Winter, the Wind Blows," "It's Okay, That's Love," and "Our Blues."
Song Hye-kyo portrays Min-ja, a resilient character who overcomes a poverty-stricken childhood. Determined to make ends meet, she takes on various jobs while venturing into the music business. Gong Yoo plays Dong-goo, Min-ja's childhood friend who remains a constant support as they chase her dreams and weather life's storms together. Their enduring relationship forms the heart of the series' narrative.

The star-studded cast also features Kim Seol-hyun as the ambitious and headstrong Min-hee, whose complex relationship with Min-ja drives much of the drama's conflict. Cha Seung-won takes on the role of Seok Gil-yeo, a talented composer known for transforming novice singers into superstars. Lee Ha-nee portrays a captivating stage performer, while veteran actress Nah Moon-hee brings depth to the character of Mal-soon, a woman whose life experiences are etched in her very being.
A newly released poster offers a panoramic view of the characters' intertwining lives, with a symbolic turntable at its center. The image captures pivotal moments: Min-ja and Dong-goo's evolution from waitstaff to rising talents, Min-hee's passionate immersion in her craft, and Seok Gil-yeo's soulful saxophone performance.

"Slowly, Intensely" is set to make its global debut on Netflix on December 11, promising viewers a compelling journey through the golden age of Korean entertainment.
